anti-cool creates work that has a connection with place and people; the boundaries people surround themselves with, everyday life, daily routines, popular activities, how local people think and spend a day. For her project at market, anti-cool imitated local band Ming Ming and the Ching Chings’s performance; mastering each individual musician in the band while performing the song ‘Creepy Tales’. Through filming and editing her pefoming each musician individually, a film is created. The result will be a film of the song being performed by a band of muliple anti-cools, simultaneously playing each instrument.

Kathy Aoki Through the use of printmaking, mixed media sculpture and painting, Aoki articulates the myths and aspirations of modernity through using various visual narratives of modern ‘girlhood’. Aoki’s work employs a ruthless anime style of cartoon images that challenge the misrepresentations in the mass media and within other areas of our society of what it is like to be a girl. Aoki has created two new works for market.

Hideko Inoue debates the notions of people, place and time. Her personal experience of living in two countries has prompted her to reflect upon the extent to which individuals are a product of their genetic make-up or of their environment i.e., nature or nurture. Inoue uses old black and white photographs, including family snapshots, where selected individuals have been relocated to a modern world of colour. In addition, handmade objects are included to enhance the narrative of the painting, in order to create opportunities for the audience to access the artwork.
